Even today, the Internet is largely unregulated and can pose a risk to children. COVID-19 has accelerated online time and e-learning, which can make it difficult for parents to track their online activity. Similarly, primary PCs are often shared among families, and some content can be too sensitive to young people. To address these issues, Microsoft has introduced Kids Mode in its own Edge browser. According to the company, Kids Mode is designed for children ages 5-12.

Kids mode enables Bing SafeSearch and restricts access to 70 popular kids websites (lists are customizable). If your child attempts to visit a website that is not on the list, you will be prompted for parental permission or to move elsewhere. Parental authentication is also required to exit Kids Mode. As a result, young users will not accidentally move to a location where they should not. To enable the mode:

step 1: After opening Microsoft Edge, click the profile icon in the upper right corner of the screen. In the drop-down menu,[キッズモードで参照]Click Options.
