While some appliances make it easy to use voice commands, printers are as confusing and unreliable as they were a few years ago. If the printer throws an error, the following steps will help you troubleshoot the problem.
Check the printer error light
Everyone knows that printers can be really frustrating at times, but they will tell you what the problem is to avoid the trial and error troubleshooting process. The printer displays an error message through a flashing colored light on the printer itself. If you don’t understand what the light means, refer to your printer’s documentation or download the PDF from your company’s support page.
Make sure the paper deck is not jammed
Printers can be very grumpy because they can have a hard time grabbing paper because they think the tray is empty. If this happens, try removing the paper tray and sliding it back in place. The paper may jam. Printers usually indicate this problem, so you can open the panel and pull out the crumpled paper. If the printer is jammed even if there is no paper in the mechanism, there may be a small amount of paper or residue left on the rollers.
Try playing with the ink cartridges
If the printer says it’s out of ink, but you know there’s ink left, the printhead may be dirty or clogged. You can use the cleaning routine built into the printer to clean it, or you can wipe off the small copper strips with a wet paper towel. When the ink begins to flow, wipe it with a dry paper towel before re-installing the cartridge.
Be sure to add a printer
When using a Wi-Fi printer, you may need to add it to the Windows list of available printers. To do this, go to Windows Settings and[デバイス],[プリンター],[スキャナー]Move in the order of[プリンターまたはスキャナーの追加]Click the button. For Mac[システム環境設定]Go to[プリンター],[スキャナー]Go to and click the plus sign for your PC to search for printers on the network.
